Posts Tagged ‘trends’

As previously mentioned (time and time again!) I am easily influenced when it comes to wedding trends.  There are some that are so lovely that I incorporated right away (i.e. Candy Buffet), some that are placed on the ‘maybe list” (i.e. a previously unblogged subject, colored crinoline – see this site for more detail) and some that were initially labeled “are you freaking kidding me, that’s not even necessary!”

Like Bathroom Baskets.

Summed up, these bathroom baskets are basically a little ‘extra’ for the guests at the reception with last minute or helpful items like mouthwash, feminine hygeine products, safety pins, bobby pins, band-aids etc., for guests’ use.  I thought it was a nice gesture, but really didn’t think I’d do them, for some reason or another.

Until I saw these adorable metal buckets @ Target!  Another blogger posted her joy in the find here.

So, armed with the container, I decorated my little heart out, once again, with the many embellishment-ing supplies that I have somehow acquired over the past few months to create a motif similar to the other DIY items, and though I have not yet filled them with the items (I’ll wait until closer to the date for fresh products/etc) I think they came out cute.

(The scripty one is for girls, the bold block letters for boys)

Here’s what I did (sorry, no photo tutorial this time)

1. Spray painted buckets gold (mine were originally red)

2. Covered inside of buckets with one block of fabric (yd quarter) from JoAnn

3. Added ivory lace trim, then blue ribbon trim

4. Designed tags on Powerpoint and backed with cardstock

5. Punched holes and strung ribbon from tags

Easy – Peasy!

Have you ever completely changed your mind on something for a silly reason like me?
