Pending submission of our application this week, there is a very good chance our wedding date is moving up one day to 11/21, Saturday.

Mini-moon options

Eric and I decided that since we’ll be saving some cash on our wedding plans, and we won’t have a lot of time off after the wedding (AKA we get married Sunday and I have to be back at work on Tuesday) we are going to have a little mini-moon our wedding night.  And what better place to celebrate than a deluxe Disney Resort that we usually cannot afford?

With CM discount, these are some prices, and options available for that evening:

  1. Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – $253 (garden view)
  2. Animal Kingdom Lodge – $203 (savannah view)
  3. Wilderness Lodge – $208 (courtyard view)
  4. Boardwalk Inn – $270 (water view)
  5. Yacht Club – $262 (water view)

I personally have my vote in for GF or Boardwalk or Yacht Club.

We’ll see!

DIY stuff =)

I have started with some crafty DIY, starting with (will post pics once complete):

  • Ring pillow – I was inspired by many, many photos online and in magazines.  I decided on making it look very ‘cut-out’ with felt in a heart shape. I cut out two chocolate brown hearts, lined the edges with light netting, and stuffed with puffy pom-poms.  The design will read ‘Eric + Krissy” in cut-out felt letters, and the “+” will be created with pool blue ribbon.
  • Cake topper – I had so much fun with these!  At Michael’s, I bought muslin dolls and used felt to design a suit and dress, and used colored skeins to create hairstyles…and used the netting for a veil, and used teeny flowers to make a small bouquet & hair piece.  Fun!  I also bought a little wooden stand, and painted it pool blue and accented it with a metallic champagne gold.
  • and

I also plan on DIY the following:

  • Table name signs – pretty sure I will go with my first idea of places.
  • Favors – probably with sweets – i.e. candies, hot chocolate mixes.

I am planning on DIY our wedding invites, and as soon as we get the date finalized (the 11/22 was pretty solid, until Eric mentioned flights for his side of the family might be an issue) I want to get Save the Dates mailed out, and then, I would be able to match the style to the invites I have in mind.

I have seen several articles related to the ‘pocket fold’ style of invitations, and would like to use that sort of design for our invites.  Of course, in the interest of keeping costs down, I have been researching whether buying the pocket fold portion or the buying the paper, and creating the pocket fold would be more budget conscious.  So, I think I am gonna do a dry run of a the instructions, and see just how tedious it is, seeing as we definitely have enough time for me to work on them, and then making a determination.

These are the bubbles I want to have sitting on each ceremony seat, for guests to blow bubbles at our exit when the ceremony ends and we exit as husband and wife =)
